I miss: I do realize after ALL these years that have FLOWN by that growing up in the Canal Zone was the BEST upbringings that anyone could ever WISH for as a child growing up! Panama is ONE of the MOST BEAUTIFUL places a person could ever visit in a lifetime! This is my opinion, anyways! I definitely MISS being around the water, the culture, the BEAUTIFUL and FUN people, the FOOD......I just miss EVERYTHING!

Last Known Sighting: Unfortunately my only time that I have been back to BEAUTIFUL PANAMA was just recently back in May of 2006 when I lost my father and came home for the funeral services. So I did not get the chance to see too much or really see anyone.

Comments: I am single again! It feels right for me to be single, because I am used to being on my own. It's not easy being a single parent, but I know that I am lucky to have my BEAUTIFUL 15 year old daughter, Maeghen Alexis Kandrin. She is my everything. I hope to make it to this year's 25th Year Reunion, but if NOT, I hope everyone that attends will have a GREAT, FUN and SAFE time! And maybe I'll see you all at another upcoming Reunion :)

Sean has been married to Asela Guardia for 16 years and they have two children; Cristina age 15, and Gabi age 6. He is currently employed as Senior Staff Engineer at InterVoice-Brite, the world leader in call automation technology and living in Plano, Texas.

Last Known Sighting: Was this past summer in DC, we stopped in and saw Nona & Derek Gallardo and caught up on the Zonian news over a couple of cerveza Panama.

He misses: We miss everything about Panama but most of all we miss our family and friends that are still living in paradise.

Comments: Asela and I met at PCC (Panama Canal College). We have two lovely daughters, Cristina age 15 & Gabi age 6, and a third one on the way (some time in June). In 2002 Cristina will be a senior in high school (boy do I feel old). Both Cristina and Gabi are big into ice skating and N'Sync (whatever happened to Boston or Kiss?).

Last Known Sighting: Visited Ted Robles and his sister Elaine Robles in Washington D.C. Stayed a week, had a lot of fun, this was in July 1990.

I have been married to Robyn Stuber for five years. We are the proud "parents" of one beagle named Mannie who is 13 years old. I work for the US Environmental Protection Agency regional office in San Francisco, California, and live in Berkeley, California.

Last Known Sighting: Mike/Kenny Schmidt, Doug Norton, Mark Hartman, Louie Martinez and I visited Greg Martinez twice in the mid-1990's during his battle with cancer. We bought him a kneeboard that he rode with a big smile on the waves of Venao.

I miss: "Property of Canal Zone Schools" gym shorts.

Joe works as a Deputy Director of Education and is living in Midland, Georgia. He has been married to Olga Marina Sandoval de Leuer for 20 years and they have three sons; Kenneth age 17, Andrew age 14, and John Michael age 12.

Last Known Sighting: Glad that I could make the 25th Reunion and participate in the Toga party!! I had a great time as always. Shorty and Slim sure made the evening fun as well--lots of memories and good feelings. Hope all is well with all of you.

I miss: I miss the care-free times at the beach or just hanging out at the causeway.

Update: What a blast from the past. I can't believe the memories that come flooding back. I have been to a couple of reunions in the middle early 90's before my family became 5 (a wife, 3 boys, and me). During those visits, I did run into a lot of folks that I ran with in the ole' CZ. Since I graduated, my life has been pretty mundane. I graduated from St. John's University in Collegeville, MN in 1986 and immediately joined the Peace Corps. I was in ROTC, but got dropped my junior year because I was deaf in one ear. I caught some virus in Panama (from the cut, the slide, the lake, or too much Panama Beer) that ate my ear nerve and caused me to have complete vertigo every once in awhile. I had an operation, but they cut my nerve and caused complete deafness!! In the Peace Corps, I went to Guatemala during the high point of their civil war. I spent close to three years there working with all the folks from the outlying areas. I lived in Esquipulas, a small town on the border between Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. Quite an experience which I can't relate in this "short" note. I met and married my wife in Esquipulas and we returned to the U.S. and Columbus, GA. I have been a civil servant working at the School of the Americas ever since.. Thanks for keeping us all in touch. You are doing a great service for all the BHS grads with no "home" to go to.

Last Known Sighting: Last year's reunion was absolutely the best! Its so good to be able to see and spend time with old friends. Life seems timeless whenever we get together with anyone from the old Zone. Can't wait till the next time!

I miss: Got to spend 2 great weeks at "home" last month. I had forgotten how WONDERFUL dry season is. Still miss the sun and the smell of the ocean as well as the smell of the rainforest. (Don't miss the traffic!)

I miss: Believe it or not, I miss the Panama thunderstorms. Florida gets some good ones but still.... Also does anyone remember the parakeets that would fly into your yard? We always threw out bananas and bread ('course then every bird for miles around would land in your yard! Tried tossing some bread in Florida...not a single bird flew in). Empanadas, ceviche and, of course, Panama beer!

Comments: Not sure if anyone remembers me, but I hold this classs very dear, having jumped around so much from schools (like probably most of the class)everyone made it easy to make friends.

I quit my job to be home with her as I couldn't stand the idea of day care. We live in Cooper City, Florida. We're back in the horse business!!! Have a pony (a Haflinger mare) to share with Sophie. She's only 3 1/2 and I'm working on training her, she can be more of a handful than some of my thoroughbreds were!!!
